Convocation of Avinashilingam University held

The 31st Convocation of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore was held on Sunday. Dr. Premavathy Vijayan, who also read out the Annual Report of the last academic year of the institution.

The report contained the success stories of the students in all the endeavours such as sports, meticulous academic performances, student placements, successful research projects and the achievements of the exquisite faculty of each schools.

The ceremony was conducted in the presence of the distinguished personality Shri Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, Chairperson, Lokpal of India, who delivered the convocation address and honoured the rank holders. He applauded the institution for its immense service not only in educating the women students but also empowering them.

He suggested the students to try different fields of studies and thereby carve their skill set in all their future endeavours.  The Chief Guest suggested the students to inculcate the spiritual values along with the knowledge they learn from various fields.

At the end of his speech, he congratulated the graduates and wished them to live their life to the fullest. About 25 Ph.D. Scholars, 56 M.Phil. Scholars, 532 Post Graduates, 1482 Under Graduates (Total – 2095) received their respective degrees and the rank holders received Gold Medal for their meritorious academic performances.

The institute was obliged to do the honours for the scholastic achievements of the students of Home Science, Science, Humanities, Commerce and Business Administration, Education, Engineering, and Community Education schools.

The hall was packed with the successful graduates who received their respective degrees from the luminaries in the convocation.  The procession ended with the national anthem.

The students in their beauteous graduation hood and gown gathered inside the auditorium with their proud parents.  The august occasion was commenced with the welcome address delivered by our respected Vice Chancellor.
