PMK women’s wing leader stoned to death

Arakkonam, Jul 11:

in a shocking incident, a 42-year old women’s wing leader of the Pattali Makkal Katchi was stoned to death. According to sources, Nirmala, the deceased, was resident of Kainur Ramasamy Nagar near here.

She was heading the Arakkonam town women’s wing of the PMK. She was running a tailoring shop.  After the death of her husband, Nirmala was living with her mother Padavettammal.  When the duo did not wake up for a long time, their neighbours grew suspicious and went to their house.

They were shocked to find Nirmala lying in a pool of blood and her mother was also lying nearby with injuries. On being alerted about the murder, the police rushed to the spot and held on the spot enquiries.

It is said that some unidentified person stoned Nirmala to death and fled from the spot. Police found that her mobile phone and moped were missing. Three police teams have been formed to trace the culprits.  One person has been detained in this connection and inquiries have been going on.
