The impact of heat wave sweeping the across the country will recede in Tamil Nadu after two days according to IMD officials. The officials said 10 districts of Tamil Nadu will experience heat wave in the next two days.
The south west monsoon has belatedly set in Kerala this year from June 8. Following this a low pressure has developed in the Arabian sea and this low pressure has become a cyclone and is named ‘vayu’. With the commencement of south west monsoon in Kerala, the impact of heat wave in Tamil Nadu will recede after two days said Puviyarasan, Director, IMD, Chennai. Cyclone Vayu will cross the coast in Gujarat by today afternoon.
Some of the areas in Kanyakumari, Theni, Nellai, Coimbatore and the Nilgiris will experience rain following the onset of south west monsoon in Kerala, he added. There will be heavy rain in some of these districts.
Chennai, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Cuddalore, Perambalur and Salem districts will experience heat wave during the next two days. The temperature will rise by two degrees in the interior districts. The impact of heat wave will recede after two days.
