Man hacks neighbour after dog-ged fight

Sirumugai police have arrested a 37-year-old farmer on Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a man over a petty quarrel in Anna Nagar. According to the police sources, the farmer has been reportedly finding a drip irrigation system in his farmland to be damaged, since the past few days.

He suspected that the system was damaged by a dog owned by his neighbour Palanisamy. Suspecting this, the farmer met Palanisamy to sort out this issue. However, the talk snowballed into an intense argument .  In a matter of time, the farmer allegedly took out a sickle that was kept hidden and hacked Palanisamy .

Soon, the neighbours rushed Palanisamy to a nearby private hospital. The Sirumugai police registered a case and a search was launched to nab the farmer.  The police then secured the suspect and produced him. before the judicial magistrate . He was later lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
