Tasmac staff attacked, robbed of Rs 2.57 lakh

A three-member gang attacked a Tasmac shop supervisor using sickle and robbed Rs 2.57 lakh from him near Pooluvapatti check post in Tirupur district on Tuesday afternoon.

Yuvaraj, supervisor of Tasmac shop 1991 located at Nathampalayam, was on the way to the Indian Overseas Bank to deposit the amount in “When he came out of the after parking it near the check post, three people came there on a motorcycle.

One of them rushed to Yuvaraj, attacked him with a sickle and snatched the bag containing the money from him. Hearing Yuvaraj’s cry for help, locals rushed to the spot and tried to catch the trio. However, they managed to escape from the area,” a police officer said.

Yuvaraj is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.  Anupparpalayam police and Tasmac authorities also reached the spot and held inquiry with Yuvaraj and locals. Police have registered a case. Further investigation is on.
