After the summer holidays are over, the government run schools will reopen on June 3, while those in the private sector will reopen on June 1. The government’s action in ensuring that all educational materials should be given to students on the of day of reopening itself is laudable.
The public examinations for classes X, XII and XI were conducted in March. Annual examinations for other classes were conducted in April. Summer holidays were declared from April 13 onwards.
The government ordered the reopening of schools on June 1 after the 50-day summer holidays were over. Fourteen free educational materials including government text books and uniform are being sent to district educational offices from the distribution centres of text book authority.
As despatch of the educational materials will be completed by May 24, the district educational officers should deliver them to all the schools through private vehicles between May 25 and 30.
The government has also ordered that distribution of free textbooks and uniforms to the students of government schools by May 30 should be ensured on the day of re-opening of schools itself. This only shows the keen interest evinced by the government in the students’ progress in education.
