22 complaints against MCC violation in Sulur till now

Election Control Room have received 22 complaints till Thursday against the violation of election model code of conduct in Sulur by-election. According to election officials, the Election Control Room, functioning 24*7 at the collector’s office has received the complaints through Toll Free Number 1800-425-4757.

“Out of these 22 complaints, only two complaints are related to money distribution to voters in Sulur constituency, and the rest are related to erecting of banner, wrtiting of graffiti on public places, pasting postures of political parties and smuggling of liquor bottles,” said an official in the election control room.

Ahead of the polling in the Sulur by-election, due on May 19, Collector K Rasamani has announced dry day in all the TASMAC liquor outlets, bars, hotels in the district from May 17 to May 19. The collector directed officials of Excise department to take steps to ensure that there was no unauthorised sale of liquor during those days.
