Malaysia-based train robber held in Chennai

Chennai, May 17:

Notorious train robber Sahul Hameed, a native of Trichur, was arrested at the central station here according to Railway police DIG Balakrishnan.  Speaking to reporters, Balakrishnan said that the accused Sahul Hameed has been running a hotel in Malaysia by investing the money he robbed in trains in hotel business.

He not only runs a hotel on lease basis but has also visited 11 countries. He had been targeting trains bound for Kerala from Tamil Nadu for the last four years. Used to travel in first class, Sahol would befriend passengers in the coach and rob them during night. The police have recovered 110 sovereigns of gold jewels from him.
