1547 students get degrees at KCT graduation day

In the three session Graduation Ceremony 2019 at Kumaraguru College of Technology (being held on April 27 and 28), a total of 1547 students from 14 undergraduate and 15 postgraduate programmes received their degrees with 106 students securing first class with distinction and 1245 students securing first class.

The first session commenced on Saturday with welcome address delivered by the Joint Correspondent, Mr. Shankar Vanavarayar. Presenting the college annual report Dr. J Senthil, the Principal of Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT)said that the college is one among the 100 technical colleges in NIRF ranking for four consecutive years having grown rapidly in the areas of research, consultancy and grants received from Government and external agencies.

The academic community of KCT is working towards acquiring the NBA accreditation for all UG programmes by 2019 while presently 5 UG programmes are NBA accredited, he said.

The Chief Guest of the morning session Mr. Murugavel Janakiraman, Founder and CEO, Matrimony.com in his graduation day address said that to succeed in life one should aim for good physical health, mental health, intellectual capacity building and spiritual alignment to go through success and challenges with same comfort.

The Chief Guest of the afternoon session Mr.M.Ponnuswami, Chairman and Managing Director, Pon Pure Chemicals Group in his graduation day address spoke about the importance of integrity, maintaining goodwill, being grateful to people who help in decentralizing the power within the organization.

“Never be pessimistic because India is a land of opportunities,” he said. Mr Sanjay Jaju IAS, Jt. Secretary, Department of Defence Production, CEO, Defence Innovation Organization (DIO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India who will deliver the graduation address and confer the degrees in the third session.
